”Art is more than what you see. Art is what you feel.”

„Arta este mai mult decat ceea ce vezi. Arta este ceea ce simti.”

English / Română

I remember…

I remember things from when I was little like everything happened yesterday. The most precious thing I have is my memory and the strength of my conscience, which protects archives of memories long as novels and frequent as rain…

Today I still have the feelings I felt when I was 4 years old. I loved to go anywhere in the evening, aimless, but in evening. I simply felt everything so intensely that my heart was beating in the chest and I was almost crying. Today I feel the same things every night. I can not describe the feeling better: it is like a wave that comes gradually but quickly passes and that makes every cell go crazy. Like the feeling of conquest, when an opponent appears in my way and I know that I will overcome. I learned to transform those feelings into action, otherwise they are killing me, choking me. And so, day after day, I was uncounciously making order from priorities, until some remained fixed… I channeled my energy and determination in action, I put my heart and mind into it and so I freed myself from the others. Sounds strange? Not quite, not exactly. People are born pure, are born able to be exceptional, but people get polluted by the opinions of the others. They are like a city that rises to be an empire but tends to self-destruct. What are you? Are you… a piece of art?

I love the lights, I like the grandeur, I like… when something takes my breath away! I have implemented all those things in my actions. But, like any human, I have my moments of depression, countable on fingers and rare, very rare. But when such a time comes, only one person can rise me above of where I stagnated: Me. What motivates me? Still me. There are no motivational quotes, miraculous books or the secret of success. None of these stories that surroundes you really exist, there is only self-motivation, motivation for you made by yourself. There are no successful people who talk about them, no people in history who got there with by talking. You can support yourself all alone, for you were made for this! Just wake up and tell yourself that there is nobody better than you. Let the people talk about you, let them see your work. Show yourself but don’t speak. But how do you expose yourself without speaking ?? Through ART.

So I express myself through art and through art I motivate myself when in depression. When I am concernd, I look over the bed and I see myself in the ‘mirror’ and so I remember who I am. Every feature, every desire or experience, I was able to gather in one place. Or rather, they managed to gather them together, because this time, the wall wasn’t decorated with paintings of my own but with a piece of art from Posterlounge.co.uk photographed by Benjamin Butschell:

Posterlounge is the biggest online store for wall art, offering to its clients paintings, movie posters, illustrations and images captured by famous photographers. On their website I found over 300.000 pieces of art and as many happy customers. The company was founded in 2003 and it’s based in Leipzig Germany. You simply can’t view all the products on the website, only if you have a lot of spare time 🙂 , and so you need to enter a keyword in the search bar. Believe me, there is no subject that does not have coverage! There are 20.000 international artists, historical or contemporary artists who collaborate or which are present on PosterLounge.co.uk. Everything for us, the buyers, so we can choose our favorite style of art without effort. Although the number of artists is impressive, the price per product is the same sitewide, ranging of course only by the size of the canvas and the chosen frame. Impressive, right?

I like this “place” so much because it is an European online store on such a scale, which means that Europeans can order anything and as much as they want, free of taxes and the transport is also quite advantageous as the price is only £3.9 Pounds. I spent a day and a half trying to decide what I want to hang above my king-sized bed. On the right side of the my room, above the desk, I made a collage of photo frames, which are still empty, so initially I thought I’d fill them with posters from Posterlounge, but when I wrote “Vienna” in the search bar on their site, I radically changed my decision. And so, I hopelessly fell in love with my “mirror-image”, a 90cm-length picture, made by Benjamin Butschell. I love everything about this picture.. to me, it speaks from itself and it represents everything I told you above.

This is what you must feel when you see art in front of your eyes: pleasant feelings, personal representation, life beyond the canvas and the vibration of colors and textures!

Those from Posterlounge also have a very beautiful magazine entitled “Art & Living” which is worth browsing here. I searched through it, I navigated the Internet and so I found some images to inspire you to change your little house, to “bring it alive” with some art pieces:
