Cinema City – Timisoara Shopping City

Well, the awaited moment has arrived! Especially for the most loyal customer of Cinema City Timisoara commuted almost weekly to watch her movies in Arad. Funny facts ?That Client was me, because I got tired of queues and halls full of people at the Iulius Mall. Not my type for sure. I say “was” because a new Cinema City was opened on April 15 in Timisoara, inside the new Shopping City Timisoara.

Cinema City opened its first complete multiplex in Timisoara, a unique one in Central and Eastern Europe and the second multiplex Cineworld group founded. The cinema brings together under the same roof standard movie playback technologies such as 2D and 3D and the latest cinema technologies like IMAX (Image Maximum) and 4DX.

The new location has 13 halls totaling 2.531 seats. However, the room where the films will be screened by IMAX has the largest cinema screen in Romania with an area of 336 square meters and 409 seats for spectators. 4DX hall has 144 seats, or 36 groups of four seats each. Yesterday I spent 5 hours inside Cinema City, managed to know so many details about the location. Moreover, I met very nice people starting from Adriana (Public Relations) to the boy from the bar, which I asked if I can eat Nachos in the 4DX room. ?

I learned that Cineworld Group is the second largest cinema chain in Europe with 2,020 cinemas, being separated by only 100 rooms from the first place in ranking. Currently, the Cinema City Shopping City Timisoara is running 17 movies, and viewers can choose both the film and the viewing. We were able to experience them all yesterday, from the classic 3D film, to IMAX and 4DX. The effect? WOW!

IMAX

IMAX is a technology that perfects both the image and the perception of sound, in such a way that the viewer feels… there, like a witness of the action. Once you see a movie in IMAX 3D you will not want to go to the usual 3D movies anymore. The ticket price is also very attractive starting from 20 lei (5 euros).

4DX

4DX is the technology that integrates you in the movie. Like this:

4DX is to feel the effects of the film on your skin, to feel the rain, the smell, the light, the wind or the moves from the film. It is like doing sport while seated! You tend to grab the seat because you might think you will fall. Let’s be honest, Timişoara need it, because you can not do anything in the city but to eat or see movies, and 4DX is currently the most interesting form of entertainment. Personally I liked the rain… so real! Prices for watching a movie in 4DX can reach a maximum of 37 lei (9 euros). Another good news is brought by the prices from the bar which are the same as the first location in Timisoara.

The evening ended with a concert of Carla’s Dreams and with a variety of free movies to watch in different rooms of cinema. Moreover, the popcorn and the juice were complimentary. The people felt very good and I think that Cinema City Timisoara II has already scored a success namely “a flawless launch.” 😉
