Eram în clasa a 6-a când încă mă uitam la desene animate. Tuturor ni s-a întâmplat să vedem personaje costumate umblând într-o anumită zi din an pe străzi, din ușă în ușă și având în mână un gen de coșuleț plin cu bomboane. În vara respectivă primisem ”calculator” și eram foarte mândră de el. Intrând pe internet, am cautat mai multe detalii despre ceea ce se numea Halloween. Țin minte și acum website-urile preistorice care aveau o melodie sinistră de orgă pe fundal și GIF-uri clasice cu glitter. Le știți și voi, în caz că ați avut vreodată site ”Piczo”… doamne, cum a trecut timpul…

Citisem atunci că: ”Sărbătoarea Halloween are origine Celtică și a ajuns în mod secundar în America. Ea reprezintă deschiderea Cerurilor și coborârea pe Pământ a spiritelor celor morți. Spiritele obișnuiau să intre în case și să posede oamenii, iar pentru a evita acest lucru, oamenii sculptează dovleci sau napi și pun în interiorul lor lumânăi. Astfel se creează un Jack-o-Lantern, o ”lampă” cu față schimonosită care prin lumina sa de foc alungă spiritele din jurul casei, arătându-le că: 1. casa este locuită, find lumină în ea (foc) și 2. că un spirit mai puternic (fața sculptată a Jack-o-Lantern-ului) locuiește deja acolo.”

Pornind de la cele citite, am făcut pe atunci legătura cu ziua de 1 Noiembrie, care la români simbolizează ”Ziua Morților”, ziua în care spiritele coboară pe pământ. Imaginația mea a sărit rapid de la text citit la organizarea unei piese de teatru. Așadar, am construit o echipă din colegii din școala generală și am pus în scenă o piesă de teatru care a avut… câțiva oameni în public. În anul următor însă, am rescris scenariul și am organizat, de această dată convingând și diriginta și mai mulți colegi, o piesă de teatru cu… o clasă de copii în public. În clasa a 8-a, am creat afișe care au împânzit pereții școlii iar piesa a fost una perfectă, complexă și cu o implicare mult mai mare a echipei și a personajelor. De această dată însă, sala noastră mare de clasă a fost căptușită efectiv de oameni, care nu mai aveau loc între cei 4 pereți… Ce sentiment! Văzând reușita de la 14 ani, onorată cu o diploma din partea Directoarei pentru inițiativă (Una dintre cele mai importante diplome din viața mea, mai importantă chiar și decât cea de Cambridge) mi-am dorit să devin actriță și regizor din moment ce spiritul de organizator a existat în mine de când avem 4 ani… Dar la finalul clasei a 8-a mi-am dat seama de cum se împarte lumea și mi-am creat o concepție care nu va putea fi răsturnată vreodată, și anume motto-ul acestui blog: ”Există 3 roluri într-un spectacol: organizatorii, artiștii și publicul. Viața este un spectacol. Alege-ți rolul.” Astfel, nu mi-a mai ajuns visul de a deveni actriță, nici măcar cel de a deveni regizor ci mi-am dorit să fiu eu cea care trage sforile. (Selfish me). În clasa a 9-a mi-am dorit să fiu pilot de Boeing sau de război și plănuiam să termin liceul de mate-info și merg cu fizica învățată acolo, la academia de pilotaj din București, însă cei 1,60m ai mei nu erau de partea mea. Apoi mi-am dorit să fiu procuror ca să-i pot vâna pe cei ce încalcă frumusețea onestității vieții, iar mai apoi mi-am dat seama că pot fi toate acestea la un loc. Pot fi actriță și scriitoare pe Blog, pot fi în domeniul dreptului și să mă ajut eu pe mine în această lume de șacali, pot trage sforile în domeniul de business și voi fi și pilot.

I was in 6th grade when I was watching cartoons. Happened to all of us, I bet, to see costumed characters walking on a certain day of the year, on the streets, from door to door and having a kind of hand basket filled with candies. In that summer I received my first computer and I was very proud of it. Going on the Internet, I searched more details about what is Halloween. I remember now prehistoric the websites were… they had a sinister organ melody in the background and classic glitter GIFs. You know all of these, in case you had a site on “Piczo”… Oh God, the time has passed…

There I read that: “Halloween has Celtic origins and has arrived secondarily in America. It symbolizes the opening of the Sky and the lowering of the spirits of the dead on the Earth. The spirits used to enter in the first house they see and possess the people, and to avoid this, people carve pumpkins or turnips and put candles inside them. This provides a Jack-o-Lantern, a “lamp” with an angry face powered by the fire that drives the spirits away, showing them that: 1. the house is inhabited, because there is light in it (fire) and 2. that a stronger spirit (the carved face of the Jack-o-lantern) already lives there.”

Based on what I read, I made a bond between Halloween and November the 1st, which in Romania symbolizes “The Day of the Dead”, the day the spirits come down to Earth. My imagination jumped from read text rapidly to organize a theater scene. So we built a team formed by my colleagues from the general school and I staged a play that had… only a few people in public. Next year, however, I rewrote and reorganized the show, this time more convincing for tutors and colleagues, a play with… a group of children in public. In the 8th grade, we created posters that have studded the walls of the school and the show was perfect, complex and with a much greater involvement of the team and the players. This time, however, our room was full with a lot of people who had not enough place between the 4 walls… What a feeling! Seeing that success at my 14 years, and being honored with a diploma from the School Director given for my initiative (One of the most important qualifications of my life, more important even than my Cambridge) I wanted to become an actress and director since the organizer spirit existed in me since I had 4 years… But at the end of the 8th grade I figured out how the world divides, and I created an guideline that can not be ever reversed, ie the motto of this blog: “There are three roles in a show: The organizers, the artists and the public. Life is a spectacle. Choose your role.” Thus, this motto has brought down my dream of becoming an actress, even the one of becoming a director because I wanted to be the one who pulls the strings. (Selfish Me). In 9th grade I wanted to be a Boeing pilot or a war pilot and planned to finish mathematics-informatics high school and go with the physics taught there, to the pilot academy in Bucharest, but those 160cm of me were not on my side. Then I wanted to be a prosecutor to hunt the violators of the honesty and of the beauty of life, and then I realized that I can all be together. I can be an actress and an writer on this Blog, I may be in law domain to help myself in this world of dragons and I still can pull the strings in the business area… and I will also be a pilot.

RO: Gluma glumă, realitatea realitate și revenind la sărbătoarea Halloween, îmi aduc aminte cât de greu mi-a fost la început în 2007, când eu voiam să aduc acestă sărbătoare printre prieteni dar nimeni nu mă asculta… Primul meu costum a fost de tocilară, următorul a fost de țigancă, al treilea de cucoană, al patrulea de pisică, al cincilea de țigancă, al șaselea …. nu vi-l spun pentru că urmează a fi refăcut și postat aici curând, al șaptelea a fost de pilot de curse, iar cel de anul trecut de majoretă. Anul acesta am decis să scriu 4 articole cu tema Helloween, înainte ca sărbătoarea să aibă loc, toate înglobate în ceea ce se numește #HalloweenSeries15

EN: The joke will be joke, the reality will be reality and getting back to our Halloween feast, I remember how hard it was back in 2007 when I wanted to bring this celebration among my friends but nobody listened to me… My first outfit was a nerd, next was the gypsy, the next was a lady, the fourth was a cat, the fifth was a gypsy again, the sixth… I won’t tell it, because it will be posted here soon, restored. The seventh was a pilot racing, and the cheerleader was last year. This year I decided to write four articles on the Helloween topic before the celebration to take place, all articles embedded under of what is called #HalloweenSeries15

RO: Mi-am dorit ca primul articol să fie ceea ce am fost de cele mai multe ori, nu?? Am părul creț vâlvoi și tenul închis la culoare, așadar acest costum este pentru mine extrem de ușor de realizat. De 2 ori am fost țigancă așa că m-am gândit să refac costumul și să schimb puțin povestea: Am combinat personajul Esmeralda din povestea ”Cocoșatul de la Notre Dame” by Disney cu aura sinistră a țigăncilor cititoare de viitor și de cărți de tarot. Iată de la ce am pornit:

EN: I wanted the first outfit to be… what I was most often transformed into?? I have curly hair and dark skin, so for me this costume to make, is extremely easy. The two times I was a gypsy so I thought to restore the outfit and change the story a little bit: I combined the character of Esmeralda from the story “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” by Disney with the sinister atmosphere of the Gypsy future readers and tarot cards players. This is from what I started:

RO: Am copiat machiajul Esmeraldei, am schimbat rujul roșu cu cel Bewitch Me de la Sephora, am adăugat o căpriță de pluș care să semene cu Djali, puțin mov, o banderolă roz, pudră foarte închisă la culoare, dezordine în fotografii și un fundal foarte simplu. Rezultatul? Niște sprâncene gigantice, un machiaj foarte dubios și o ținută medievală adecvată personajului ales, cumpărată de pe WildFashion.ro.

EN: I copied Esmeralda’s makeup, I changed her red lipstick with Bewitch Me from Sephora, I added a plush goat resembling with Djali, added little purple, a pink head piece, a very dark powder, some mess to the photographs and a simple background. The result? Some giant eyebrows, a very dubious makeup and medieval attire very appropriate to my selected character, brought from WildFashion.ro.
